What Happens When You Decide to Go Solar
Choosing solar is a big step — and for many homeowners, the biggest concern isn’t the technology, but the process.
What actually happens after you say yes?
Here’s exactly what you can expect when you go solar with Sunhome.
1. Engineer Site Survey
Before buying, our engineer will visit your property to carry out a detailed site survey. We will assess your roof condition and structure, understand your household energy usage, and check your electricity meter and setup.
2. Scaffolding Setup
Scaffolding will be installed the day before your installation. Typically takes 1–2 days
3. System Delivery
Your solar equipment — including panels, inverter, and battery — will be delivered to your property on a scheduled day.
4. Installation Day
Our installation team will arrive on the agreed date and begin work.
5. Roof Preparation & Mounting System
We start by preparing your roof and installing the mounting system that will securely hold your solar panels.
6. Panel Installation
Next, we install the solar panels and connect them together.
We also make sure everything is aligned properly and left clean and tidy.
7. Battery & Inverter Installation
Your battery and inverter will be installed and connected to your home’s main power supply. This is where your system becomes fully functional.
8. System Testing & Setup
Before we leave, we thoroughly test your system to ensure everything is working correctly.
We will also set you up with a monitoring app so you can track your energy generation and usage in real time.
9. Handover & Guidance
We’ll walk you through how your system works, how to use the monitoring app, and what to expect day-to-day. So you feel confident using your system from day one.
10. Documentation & Records
All required installation records, photos, and forms are completed using the Sunhome system.
11. Clean-Up & Scaffolding Removal
We’ll clean up the site and remove all installation waste.
Scaffolding will typically be removed within 48 hours, leaving your home just as we found it — only now powered by solar.
A Smooth, Transparent Process
From survey to installation, every step is designed to be clear, efficient, and tailored to your home.
